Thanks Penny.
Back in 1988 I started working as a "Grounds Supervisor" at Waratah Park as a weekend job when I was at uni. The Park at that time was owned by Naish Hogan. I used to love working there; playing with the train, unclogging blocked toilets, conducting tours, mucking out cages, etc, etc. Without being tong-in-cheek, I had a lot of fun while working there and I have many fond memories of the time. Apart from that, I always enjoyed going there on special occasions as a child. I really like your vision for the future of Waratah Park and I wish you every success.Kind regards,
Simon
Let’s not forget an Aussie icon!
WARATAH Park should be preserved in its natural state and never sold to developers for housing estates or business parks. The land and location is far too valuable to sell for cheap commercial interests. This location is designed to be a recreational or theme park for the benefit of people everywhere, like it was in the old days when it had a rangers headquarters, a helipad and billed as the Home of Skippy. I remember large numbers of American, British tourists and other nationals visiting this beautiful park. We must never surrender these memories, with the barbecue areas and the souvenir shop where I used to take my family on weekends. This park should be placed on the state heritage register. Skippy is long gone, but I remember watching her on TV during the 1960s and ‘70s and I think that this park should be kept as a living memory of one of our national icons.
May she always be remembered.

Hi Penny
Thank you for your efforts. They should put your bronze statue outside the park's front door.
Kind regards
Fernand Muylle
Thank you for ALL your hard work.
I read on your blog about the Council Meeting and the Petition you have organised and without you, Waratah National Park Earth Sanctuary would have been lost forever. What a loss it would be for all the lovers of the Skippy filming set, it's history and certainly a loss for the area.
How much more development can we afford before we permanently lose the animals and flora of our native bushlands.
I look forward to following your website for future news.
Kindest Regards
Anthony Hajje.
